From Moscow to Mongolia, from Tokyo to Paris,
I have chatted with hams in over 100 countries.
During peace or during war I have found that every man is God fearing,
asking only that he be able to care for and protect his family.
For his family is his greatest riches and his lasting mark
"ON THE PLANET WE CALL EARTH"
My Ham station consist of a Kenwood TS-180S Transceiver with and external VFO and speakers.
Transmitting power is 1,000 Watts (PEP) provided by a Dentron Gla-1000B amplifier.
I use a Dentron Antenna Tuner and a Vibroplex Keyer. On 10\15\20 meters I use a Mossley
Classic-33 tri-bander on a 75 foot tower. An inverted vee is used for 40\75 meters.
I enjoy (morse code)(the lost art of communicating with dots and dashes)
I use a Vibroplex Keyter This is one of the ways our boys who were POW's
in Vietnam communicated with each other to keep their spirts up.
What ship sinking brought world attention to morse code and gave fame to the term S.O.S.?
This is a photo of my first Radio station in 1976, back in those days
Heath Kit was a popular brand. They made kits and you assembled them.
Everything in this picture was built by me.
This hobby is great for those who are disabled. If you are interested contact the "American Radio Relay League"
